Congratulations - viva success

Huge congratulations to Dr. Huayuan Dong, Dr. Emmanuel Erem and Dr. Illia Kovalenko who have recently passed their PhD vivas. 

Dr. Dong was supervised by Paolo Guasoni from Dublin City University. His thesis title was "Rogue Traders”.

Dr. Erem's thesis was titled "An Investigation into Exchange Rate Dynamics, Adjustment Mechanisms and Monetary Policy”. Dr Erem was supervised by Gregory Connor from Maynooth University. 

Dr. Kovalenko was supervised by Tom Conlon and John Cotter. He was awarded a PhD from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School for his thesis, “Essays on Portfolio Optimization and Estimation Risk”. 

Dr. Dong, Dr. Erem and Dr. Kovalenko's research scholarship were funded through the Valuation and Risk (VAR) programme for PhD students. VAR is a research initiative developed as part of the Financial Mathematics and Computation Cluster (FMC). Funding was fromScience Foundation Ireland and industry partners AerCap, Avolon, Bank of Ireland, Citibank, Deloitte, The Institute of Banking, KPMG, Safran and SMBC Aviation Capital.
